She pulled a KeKe Palmer: “I don’t know who this man is.” She looked at the screen… and didn’t recognize me. No, UTIs Do NOT Cause Dementia — Let’s Stop the Misinformation

I want to clear something up because it was said on LIVE and it matters. UTIs do NOT cause dementia. That’s simply not true. What can happen—especially in older adults—is a UTI can trigger delirium. That looks like sudden confusion, agitation, sleepiness, or behavior changes. And yes, it can be alarming. But delirium is temporary. Once the infection is treated, those symptoms often improve.
